The cocktail was formed at the turn of the century, the Singapore Sling cocktail was originally called the Straits Sling and was specially formulated for women because of the attractive pink color. Singapore Sling cocktail appeared from 1910 to 1915 and was invented by Ngiam Tong Boon, a famous bartender of Long Bar at Raffles Hotel.

Sling Singapore Sling cocktail for cool summer days


– Gin: 30 ml.

– Cherry Brandy: 15 ml.

– Triple sec: 15 ml.

– Grenadine: 0.5 ml.

– Aromatic juice: 30 ml.

– Lemon juice: 15 ml.

– A slice of pineapple.

– Ice.

– Grinded ice.


Step 1: Gin, Brandy, Triple Sec, Grenadine, Aromatic Water, Lemon Juice and Shake ice. Shake well and firmly.

Step 2: Pour the cocktail into a high leg cocktail. Add some ice cubes to the cocktail.

Step 3: Put a pineapple slice on the glass to decorate.

According to Ngiam Tong Boon’s original recipe, the original Singapore Sling consisted of gin, Benedictine, lemon, pomegranate juice and Sarawak pineapple juice to create a foam top.
